The Cora Hartshorn Arboretum in Short Hills NJ offers many interesting programs.  On Friday, February 10, join the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum for a Snow Moon Hike.  The first full moon in February is known as the Snow Moon.  Enjoy this guided moonlight hike and learn interesting facts such as why winter nights are more quiet than summer nights.  Join in the fun as you look for wildlife tracks and more.  The hikes are offered at 5:30 and 6:45 pm.  The cost is $5.00 for members and $8.00 for non-members.  To register, visit the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum website.

On Sunday, 2/12, join the Arboretum’s teen volunteers for a guided hike focusing on Early Signs of Spring.  In addition, the teens will share information about their upcoming Citizen Science Projects and let you know what you can do to become a citizen scientist at the Cora Hartshorn Aboretum.  Hikes are offered at 11 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00  pm.

After your visit to the Cora Hartshorn Aboretum, why not stop in at Peter’s for a bite to eat.  This is one of the Shannon Aronson Team’s favorite places to eat.   It’s an “all in the family” kind of place.  Peter’s is a father-and-son-owned and operated restaurant and full everyday of the week with Millburn Short Hills locals.   The hotsy totsy shrimp is a huge favorite. They also make amazing homemade pasta.  They will make you anything you want. Their Chicken Parm is also a favorite. The food is consistently good, and everyone there is very friendly. The restaurant is a great place to bring everyone as it is very family-oriented.  An added bonus is that it is a BYOB.  Located in the heart of Millburn NJ, Peter’s is open for lunch Tues-Thurs, 11:30-2:30 and for dinner Tues-Thurs 5:00-9:00 and Fri-Sat from 5:00-10:00. Peter’s is closed on Sundays and Mondays. If you feel like a quick cocktail before dinner, walk two doors down to Moonshine Supper Club for a drink at the bar before heading to Peters.

Another favorite spot for a bite to eat is The Hills Tavern.  It’s new and feels very New Yorky inside with white tile and black leather pin-tucked booths.  There is a very long bar with serious cocktails and a good bar-food menu if you don’t want to eat in the main dining area.  It has a fun vibe and good people watching.
